    • Hood & Gloves: Optional, depending on personal cold tolerance.

    Surfboards & Accessories

    • Board Selection: Waves typically range from chest-high to overhead, with occasional double-overhead swells. A high-volume shortboard that provides good flotation is ideal. Bring a step-up board for larger surf.
    • Recommended Board Types: Twin pins, round pins, gliders, and versatile high-performance shapes work well.
    • Example Sizing:
      • For average conditions, a well-floating shortboard (e.g., 6’2”).
      • For bigger swell days, step up to a 6’6”-6’8” range.
      • For heavy, large waves, consider a gun in the 7’4”-8’2” range.
    • Board Bag: If traveling with others, consider sharing a board bag to simplify transport. A versatile 6’3”-6’6” board can handle most conditions. If the swell gets too big, rental boards are available locally.
    • Fins: Bring at least two sets of fins for your board.
    • Leashes: Pack two leashes of the correct length for your board, ensuring they are thick and durable.
